Hey there! Dixie Belle here, and we’re plum tickled to share an inspiring cause we’re supporting here at the Dixie Belle Paint Company called “Paint a Pot for Peace.” This creative initiative is all about giving back, making a difference, and putting a smile on someone’s face through the power of art.
Here’s the deal: every pot you paint and post on Dixie Belle Paint’s Facebook (the post is pinned to the top of the company’s profile) means a dollar donated to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. It’s a beautiful way to combine your love for crafting with a worthy cause.
But we’re not the only ones in on this artistic adventure. There are talented crafters all over, each adding their unique touch to these pots of hope. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to one of our talented bloggers, Lee Ann with Creative Moments, who has been crafting some stunners as part of this campaign.
So, stay tuned for creative inspiration, and a chance to be a part of the Paint a Pot for Peace campaign. It’s a meaningful way to create and contribute, one brushstroke at a time. Get ready to join us on this artistic journey, and let’s paint for peace and a great cause!
Take it away Lee Ann!
Hi, I am Lee Ann, the creator and refinisher @ Creative Moments. Creative Moments is all about reloving & recreating furniture and home decor. I give no longer “in style or the right color” furniture/decor a new look to become ONE OF A KIND custom finished pieces.
I love to paint mason jars up as vases. They are always so cute when done and a perfect canvas to try new paints and colors. This one uses the new Dixie Belle Terra Clay Paint line in 2 blended fall colors.
Dixie Belle’s Terra Clay Paint in the colors Marigold and Malachite but an important step before painting is to coat the jar with Dixie Belle’s Slick Stick after a good cleaning. Allow the slick stick to dry for at least 24 hours or more.
Half the jar was painted in Marigold and half in Malachite using 2 Dixie Belle Premium Chip Brushes. On the second coat of each, I stippled the colors into each other to get a blended feel.
You can mist the surfaces with a Fine Mist Spray Bottle to help aid in blending as well. Once the desired blend is achieved allow to dry well. To seal up the paint I applied 2 coats of Dixie Belle Satin Clear Coat.
There is also a sealer in the Terra Paint lineup as well called Dixie Belle Terra Seal that would do the same thing. Adding the sealer makes the next steps easier to work with. I wanted to age the jar further so added brown Dixie Belle’s Best Dang Wax. The last step was to add a slight bit of shimmer with Copper Dixie Belle Gilding Wax along the rims and edges.
As we wrap up –
Our little chat about Paint a Pot for Peace by the Dixie Belle Paint Company, we hope y’all are as inspired as we are. Remember, every painted pot shared is not just a stroke of artistry; it’s a stroke of kindness toward Alzheimer’s research. It’s heartwarming to see so many folks, from all walks of life, coming together to give back in such a creatively heartfelt way. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the experienced, and not-so-experienced crafters, both young and old, who’ve poured their love into this initiative.
Together, we’re painting a brighter, more hopeful future, one pot at a time. Join us in making a difference through your craft and help fund crucial Alzheimer’s research.
Don’t forget to post a picture of your painted pot on the Dixie Belle Paint Facebook page! That’s how we will document an accurate count of donations to be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
As Dixie Belle says, “In every brushstroke, there’s a little bit of hope.” And with that hope, we’ll continue painting for peace and pushing for progress. So, let’s keep those creative juices flowing and those pots blooming with colors of compassion. Thanks for joining, and remember your art matters in more ways than one.
