What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting their journey into the world of DIY and painting? Are there any key lessons you’ve learned along the way that you wish you knew when you first began?
“I would tell anyone who’s starting their journey to start small and work their way up. We all want to flip these beautiful pieces – however, the most important factor in that is learning the basics. I think starting small with something such as a breadbox or a tiny bedside table will help you understand the basics better before you reach to flip that wardrobe or giant dresser! Take your time, set time aside, and master all the steps! ‘Don’t rush the process’ is a phrase I live by!”
In what ways has being a brand ambassador for Dixie Belle Paint influenced your own artistic style and approach to crafting? Have you discovered any new techniques or experimented with different mediums since joining the Dixie Belle family?
“Being a Brand Ambassador has allowed me to learn from other amazing artistic individuals and try out new styles and techniques that I probably would have never tried unless it was for them! I have been in awe of their talents and it’s been a blessing to learn from the best!”
Let’s talk about challenges. Every creative journey comes with its fair share of hurdles. Can you share a particularly memorable obstacle you’ve faced in your artistic endeavors and how you overcame it?
“I think the hardest challenge about this process is always coming up with new ideas and designs to makeover furniture and DIY projects that haven’t already been done before. I love to put my own originality and spin on these types of things and to be original each time is hard! But that’s the fun part of it all – trying new things out for the first time!”
Collaboration can often spark new ideas and fuel creativity. Have you had the opportunity to collaborate with other artists or influencers within the DIY community since becoming a brand ambassador for Dixie Belle Paint? If so, what was that experience like for you?
“I’ve had the pleasure to learn so much from all the other brand ambassadors as well as other power tool companies and brands in the DIY space who also believe in DB products. It’s an amazing community of people who share so much knowledge!”
Looking to the future, what are some of your artistic goals or aspirations? Is there a dream project or milestone you’re working towards, either personally or in your partnership with Dixie Belle Paint?
“I think my dream project would be to have my own TV show or be a host on one and show even more people all the incredible ways you can flip furniture and DIY your own home! I would also love to have my own product or DB paint color with DB!”
