Hi Kimberly! Silk Paint has a built-in stain blocker and a built-in topcoat. A scuff sanding is recommended when using Silk Paint. Silk Paint does not have chalk in it. Chalk Mineral Paint is great for blending and distressing. Both are durable. Silk Paint has a very sleek look. Can you apply Silk over a previously chalk painted piece?
(didn’t like my blend) I did not too coat it, just stopped after using two DB chalk paints.
Hi Clare! Yes, you can. As long as the piece was properly prepped when you first painted it and there are no adhesion issues with the Chalk Mineral Paint.

I am currently using the silk white cap to paint a bed and it does not seem to be self leveling. I am using a brush and can see the brush strokes. I used the Baja grey and didn’t have this issue. What can I do to fix it?
Hi Diane! When using Silk Paint, we recommend loading the brush with an ample amount of paint and working quickly. It is important to not overwork your paint. We also recommend waiting 2-4 hours between coats.
What is the primer that is in the silk paint?

I was wondering if you can do a color blend (like an ombre) using silk and chalk paint? The silk like doesn’t have that many color choices.

What is the coverage for the silk paint? I am want to do three pieces of furniture and not sure how much to buy?
Thank you for your question. It depends on how many square feet you’re trying to cover. 8 ounces will cover 38 sq. ft , 16 ounces will cover 75 sq. ft and 32 ounces will cover 150 sq. ft. I hope this answers your question.
