Hi everyone, Denise from Salvaged Inspirations here!
Learn how to layer paint and products to achieve this gorgeous Spanish Moss layered green vintage dresser makeover!
Even after all these years of painting furniture, I had a nervous excitement starting this dresser because I really wanted to do it justice.
I don’t often work on ‘perfect-as-is-pieces’ like this. This dresser required NO repairs, NO fill, NO adjustments. It was a pick-up and paint project.
Dixie Belle Paint Products:
- DBP Synthetic Paint Brushes
- Spanish Moss Chalk Mineral Paint
- Terracotta Chalk Mineral Paint
- Stormy Seas Chalk Mineral Paint
- Lavender Fields Transfer (updated: check out all our latest transfer designs here!)
- Van Dyke Brown Glaze
How To:
I started by giving this tallboy a good cleaning with White Lightning and then layering on Stormy Seas and Terracotta.
After the first 2 layers dried, I applied two coats of Spanish Moss.
To add extra depth to the drawers, I used Van Dyke Brown Glaze on the inside of all the drawer frames.
I used a few Prima products as well: the Royal Ann Garden Stick and Style Stencil and the Lavender Fields Transfer.
