When I saw this nightstand, I knew exactly how I wanted to paint it!

Using the two colors, start with two different brushes. You can put one color on top and one on bottom and work towards the middle, keeping the middle until last while it’s still “wet” and thus “workable” or reactivate it with a mist of water. The key is to use wiped off brushes to gently blend the colors together – in this case from the middle to the top and bottom. Wiping your brushes off between moving up or down can help in ensuring you do not move too much paint of the opposite color. And if you mess it up – don’t worry! It’s only paint – you can paint right over it. Try on a piece of scrap wood to get a feel for how well they blend and how bold or smooth tyou want the transition to be.
We have lots of blending tutorials on our social media pages and site to help you achieve the perfect ombré, too.
