Have you ever thought about mixing Dixie Belle Paint colors? You certainly should! When you mix Dixie Belle Paint colors together, you can create your own custom beautiful finish.
This peachy piece was created by Lilly Moon Vintage with a mix of Apricot and Terracotta.
I found this cute French Provincial chest at a local thrift store in Orlando, FL. It was almost in mint condition with just a few scuffs and scratches, but nothing a little light sanding couldn’t fix.
I knew I wanted to give this fancy little piece a feminine touch, but didn’t necessarily want it to be pink. So I chose to go for a creamy peach color.
So I decided to mix up equal parts of Dixie Belle Paint in Apricot and Terracotta. Apricot is a lovely light creamy color with a hint of peach, and Terracotta is a muted orange. I used 2 oz of each to create this color. On the curvy legs, I took a 220 sanding sponge and sanded them lightly to remove all of the sheen. I was going from a medium wood stain to a dark wood stain using Dixie Belle Paint’s No Pain Gel Stain in Espresso.
I used a glove and a sock over the glove to apply it, that way I had better control on where to apply the gel stain. Once the gel stain was applied, it completely absorbed into the wood and almost camouflaged all of the nicks and scuffs it had. Finally, I sealed it with Clear Coat in Satin.
