How To:

I’ve been using porcelain doll pink pumpkins as a part of my fall from porch decor for years and just love how pretty and unconventional they are.

This year I figured it would be fun to recreate these beauties using my crafting skills and a little Dixie Belle Paint.

First, use a rag to stain your pumpkin’s surface with the Dixie Belle Tobacco Road Gel Stain. Let dry.

Next, wet your chip brush and paint your pumpkin’s surface with the Dixie Belle paint in Flamingo.

Now, paint the stem of the pumpkin using the Dixie Belle paint in Chocolate.

Once your paint coats are dry, you will dry brush your pumpkin’s surface using Dixie Belle paint in the color Drop Cloth. (To dry brush, start by wetting your chip brush. Then barely dip your brush into your paint and dab any extra paint onto a paper towel. The trick is to have very little paint on your brush. Then lightly dry brush the pumpkin’s surface.)

After you have dry brushed your pumpkin, take your spray bottle and spray the surface. Then wipe back your paint with a rag. Keep repeating this process of spraying and wiping back until you get the color you like. You can also add more paint by repeating the dry brushing technique, if you feel like you need more color.
