Hey everyone, it’s Marieza from Home with Marieza. Give your living room an updated feel just by painting your coffee table! Lets get started!
Materials List:
- Nautical Silk Mineral Paint
- Best Dang Wax
- Gilding Wax – Gold
- Vintage Antique Swivel Casters
How To:
Step 1:
First, I used a flat-head screwdriver to remove the brass plates before sanding the wood. Note: Oak is extremely hard, and other than the end table, I did not sand through the veneer layer while taking off the thick varnish coating. The sides and legs only got a light scuffing for the paint to grip well.
Step 2:
Secondly, I chose the color “Nautical” for the coffee table and two end tables in Dixie Belle’s Silk paint range.
Step 3:
Thirdly, the Silk Mineral Paint has a built-in primer and topcoat. I decided to add a bit of Best Dang Wax anyway.
Step 4:
Next, adding caster wheels. Drill a hole in the center of each leg. Once all four holes are wide enough, inert the t-nuts. The flat heads have teeth that need to be hammered into the wood and the stems can be pushed into the t-nuts by hand.
Step 5:
Lastly, I added some shine to all the caster wheels with Gold Gilding Wax.
