Hey reader, Lee Ann from Creative Moments! Read about the Secrets of Success with this painted planter upcycle!

I love plants but it seems I am running out of pots. I had spray painted this ceramic pot a few years back but the paint started to flake off in time. Since then, I learned the secret to adhering paint to ANY smooth surface ceramic, glass, plastic, etc.

Materials:

Step 1: Prep!

The first step to prep is to scrub well with a good cleaner like Dixie Belle White Lightning Cleaner and rinse well and dry. Once dried, the amazing Dixie Belle Slick Stick was brushed on with a Dixie Belle premium chip brush and allowed to dry, then a second coat was applied and the pot was left to dry well for at least 24 hours.

Step 2: Time for Paint!

Next was to paint the pot with Dixie Belle Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint Deep Sea, which is a gorgeous rich navy. Using my 2″ mini Dixie Belle Synthetic Brush, the first coat went on. After the first coat dried, I then brushed on a second one. Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint has a built-in primer and top coat making it a one-step product but over slippery surfaces, the key to success is the Slick Stick.
