Hi y’all, Tracey here!
Wait until you see this water washed dresser… and nightstand!
Another French provincial dresser rescued from grandma’s garage! Another unique dresser being added to an updated and gorgeous bedroom!
I hope to inspire you to TRY…..to TRY your very own DIY!
Dixie Belle Paint Products:
- NEW COLORS: French Linen, Sawmill Gravy, Antebellum Blue, Rusty Nail
- Gravel Road, Patina Paint in Bronze, Patina Blue and Green Spray
- Spray Mister, Dixie Belle Brushes
- Clear Coat Satin, Easy Peasy Spray Wax
After painting the entire piece in the new Dixie Belle French Linen…..I chose to enhance each inset across the front as individual framed pieces of abstract art using my water wash technique. You just need several colors of paint….a spray bottle/mister bottle and a paintbrush for each color….like you see below. I am using (from left to right) French Linen, Antebellum Blue, Sawmill Gravy and Rusty Nail. I also used Gravel Road which is not in the photo below.
I painted the entire piece LIVE on Facebook! Check out the videos below!
The sides hold the whimsy!!! Next, I brought in stripes to keep the piece from being too serious! The Gravel Road and Sawmill Gravy stripes snug right up to the transfer! And can we talk about the “melting stripes” technique….that was a total afterthought and I freaking love????
Check out the baby piece too! This little nugget was created to compliment the gorgeous French provincial dresser!
My client’s mother has stored this nightstand in its original form …..again…..in the garage for probably 30+ years!
First, I painted the entire piece in Dixie Belle’s French Linen. I then used French Linen and Antebellum Blue and Sawmill Gravy on the front……and did a very gradual color blend….in preparation for the transfer. Read more about the nightstand here!
I think they make a beautiful pair!!
