This floral ombré china cabinet is not a typical finish….or color palette for me…….and I like it!
Dixie Belle Paint Colors:
How To
Step One
Clean with White Lightning! This piece was filthy! It had years of grime and oil and a VERY musty smell.
Step Two
Apply BOSS in Clear.
Step Three
I used FIVE colors on the organic “non-blended” drippy ombré/color wash finish (longest finish name I’ve ever come up with…lol!). I started with Apricot….then proceeded with Savannah Mist, Blueberry, Holy Guacamole and ended with Collard Greens.
Watch this video for more detailed on the ombré effect!
Step Four
I highlighted with Terracotta and used it on the inside of the cabinet.
Step Five
I used Dixie Dirt in Earth to add that old world aged shaded look. Its great for adding depth without being too overpowering.
Step Six
I need to say that the furniture transfer on the bottom….Roses and Rouge was my inspiration for this piece. I knew as soon as I saw it that I would use it on this piece. And I knew I’d be pulling every single color from it to use on one piece of furniture!
Step Seven
I used Easy Peasy Spray Wax and Clear Coat in Flat over the transfer. It’s such a dainty and romantic piece now! I hope it finds its forever home with someone who loves it as much as I do!
