  1. Karen says:

I have a old cedar chest that I’ve cleaned and used boss on it. My room the chest goes in is white, grey and mint green. So I have peacock, Gulf and amethyst, started wit all the colors mentioned, tried to blend but just looked like streaks. After drying I just put Gulf on it and tried to blend it. Still not right. What color should I have as based coat,. I think I have the wrong colors. Help.

    1. Dixie Belle Paint Company says:

Hi Karen! When blending Chalk Mineral Paint, be sure to mist with water. We recommend posting some pictures of your project to our Facebook group and people will be able to offer suggestions. Here’s our Facebook group link! http://bit.ly/DBPfriends! 😊

  2. Cindy Burrow says:

I am new to Dixie Bell and trying to figure out which type of paint to start with…your original chalk paint line or the new silk line. I am looking for a nice matte finish with a durable coat. I am not looking to distress.

    1. Dixie Belle Paint Company says:

Hi Cindy! Welcome! We’d recommend our Chalk Mineral Paint. It is full coverage, durable, and has a matte finish. If you’d like to add even more durability, you could seal the paint with our Flat Clear Coat, but this is not required. Have fun painting! 😊
