This cute accent table was previously finished by someone who no longer wanted it. I saw the total potential to change the color and feature a beautiful floral transfer in the center. How cute would it be in your entryway?

Step 1: Clean and sand

The table had sticky stuff on it needing removal. Then the raised stencil was sanded smooth with my Festool orbital sander.

Step 2: Paint

I chose The Gulf Dixie Belle Paint, a pretty sea green color, to refresh the table. To start, I flipped the table upside down and painted the underside using a Medium Oval Synthetic Brush. Once that was covered, I turned the table right-side up and painted the top.

After the first coat dried, I smoothed the surface with a sanding sponge before applying a second coat to the top. Once dry, I sanded it again for a flawless finish.

Step 3: Apply transfer

I chose the King Protea transfer from Dixie Belle for this project. First, I cut out the pieces and arranged them to create a design I loved.

Next, I placed the two largest pieces where I wanted them.

Then, I added more elements from the transfer collection, rubbing them into place. For extra depth, I layered some pieces to create a more natural, realistic look.

Step 4: Apply top coat

I sealed all the transfers in place with two coats of Clear Coat Flat, then followed up with two coats of Clear Coat Satin for a smooth finish. To apply the coats evenly, I used my favorite 2″ angled synthetic brush, which made the process easy and precise. This extra layer of protection also adds durability to the tabletop, ensuring it holds up beautifully over time.

From drab to fab, this accent table now has a fresh and elegant look, all thanks to Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint and a floral bouquet transfer! Lee Ann’s creativity and eye for detail truly bring out the beauty in every piece she works on. Are you feeling inspired to try a similar project?
