How to Update a Caviar Cabinet

How To:

Step One:

Be sure to clean your piece well with White Lightning. Don’t skip this step!

Step Two:

Paint with Caviar, a beautiful matte black.

Please note, your piece must be completely dry before you can apply the hemp seed oil. Allow the piece time to dry to the touch.

Step Three:

Next, I applied Hammered Copper Gilding Wax to the hardware.

Then, I added the new Big Mama’s Butta to the interior wood to refresh and revitalize the look.

Step Four:

Once your piece is fully painted and dry, apply the Howdy-Do Hemp Seed Oil to your blue sponge.

You’ll then want to grip your sponge and begin applying the Hemp Oil to your piece. Continue this in a horizontal motion, ensuring you’re covering the entire surface.

After applying the first coat (pictured above on the right) to your furniture, allow 2 hours to dry, before adding 2-4 coats additional.

You should then allow 12 hours for the oil to fully absorb into the chalk mineral paint.

Step Five:

The last step involves buffing any excess oil off the surface of your furniture.

This will leave your piece with that silky smooth, velvety finish you’re looking to achieve. You can now sit back and enjoy the beauty you created.

I’m in love with this piece. This rare find is so classy and beautiful! Look at those curves!
