Are you looking to create a beautiful and feminine vanity?

I’m super excited to show you my latest finished piece!  Every once in a while you really have to go out of your comfy zone. That’s what I did for this project! I hope you all love it.

How to Paint a Feminine Vanity

At first glance this looks like it’s in excellent shape. For the most part it was, but there was a lot of sanding, filling and prep involved.

How To:

Step One

I cleaned and prepped with White Lightning, sanded the top and used BOSS to prevent any possible bleed through since I am painting it a lighter color.

Step Two

I used Fluff Chalk Mineral Paint tinted with Manatee Gray for the base.

Step Three

I only used a tiny bit of each of these Chalk Mineral Paint colors to give it some dimension: Peony, Aubergine, Evergreen, Tree Frog Green, Cobalt, Soft Pink and Lucky Lavender.

Step Four

I sprayed the piece a bit with water to soften the colors up. I then added Best Dang Wax in Black and Brown to give it more of an aged look.

Step Five

Metallic Silver Base Coat was put on the top for some extra shimmer, then Warm Gold Gilding Wax for smaller touches.

Step Six

I finished with three coats of Dixie Belle Clear Coat Satin to seal in the look and give it a more durable finish. All done!
