How to Paint a Nightstand Set

Who doesn’t love an amazing makeover? I grabbed these cute nightstands at a thrift store in Belgium. I want to show you exactly how I did this nightstand makeover! The following is a list of supplies you will need if you want this exact look.

How To:

The first thing I do with any piece I paint is prep. I clean it really well with White Lightning and if it is a lighter color, I use BOSS.

For this piece I mixed a custom color using 1 part Lucky Lavender and 1/4 part Mason Dixon Gray.

After I painted the entire piece, I let it dry and put one more coat of paint. I let the piece dry entirely as well as the hinges.

Then, I used the brand new Moonshine Metallic line by Dixie Belle to paint the top of this piece. I like to put a base coat of one of their paints prior to working with the actual metallics. For this piece I did only one base coat of Manatee Gray.

Once the Manatee Gray is completely dried I applied my MoonShine Metallic in Silver Bullet.

For this makeover I used the stick & style stencil by redesign with prima. I am awful at stenciling so these have been a life saver. Not only are they easy to use, they are reusable, and they come with 15 yards.

Also I used a decor transfer to add character to the pieces. They are super easy to use and you can use them in full sheets or cut them to fit. You can even just cut bits and pieces off for your furniture. The transfer I used is the Rose & Rogue.

Next, I wanted to add a little more dimension to the edges of this piece. For that I used the Clear Best Dang Wax, Dixie Dirt, and Easy Peasy Spray Wax.
