How To Create a Patina, Aged Effect on Almost Any Surface:
Step 1: Clean & prime the surface
Clean a glass mason jar and apply a coat of Slick Stick Updated: Bonding BOSS. (Allow to dry for 24 hours or more). This will provide almost any surface you want to use with an adhesive layer for the paint.

Step 2: Use Terra Clay Paint in earthy colors as a base
I painted half the jar with Marigold and the other half with Malachite. I stippled the colors together to get the blended illusion.

Step 3: Mist to blend the colors
Optional: You can mist the surface of the mason jar to help with the blending as well.
Step 4: Seal the base paint layer
To seal the paint, apply 2 coats of Clear Coat. [You can apply Terra Seal instead as it would do the same thing.]

Step 5: Use colored waxes to work the surface to a patina’d, vintage look
You can add Best Dang Wax to give the illusion of an aged look.

Step 6: Add shine with Gilding Wax
Add a bit of shine with Copper Gilding Wax along the rims and edges.
