How To Stain and Stencil an Old Wooden Bed Frame:
Step 1: Sand to smooth and remove all stains and top coats
First, sand the headboard where the scratches were deeper than others, remove original stain that was leftover on the headboard.

Step 2: Place your stencil
Then, I selected a stencil, placed it where I wanted it to be stained onto the natural wood.

Step 3: Use stencil adhesive to lock it then apply Gel Stain to the stencil
Next, I applied the stencil adhesive to the back of the stencil, pressed it onto the surface of the wood, and applied Dixie Belle’s No Pain Gel Stain in American Honey with a rag.

Step 4: Remove stencil, fix any bleeding spots
After that, peel off the stencil (I had an issue with the adhesive so I had to sand off the first layer of the stain that I had already applied). I had to use an Artist Brush to hand paint the rest of the stencil. It worked very well!

Step 5: Seal with Howdy Do Hemp Oil to enrich the wood
In addition, for sealing I used Howdy Do Hemp Oil to seal the stain because the hemp oil soaks into the wood, nourishing while also protecting it.

Step 6: Enjoy!
Step back and enjoy your final result!
