DIY Magnolia Garden Transfer Dresser

Hi everyone! It’s Brandy from Brushed by Brandy! This emerald finish was inspired by the Magnolia Garden Transfer and magnolia tree leaves! Let’s get started!

Materials List:

How To:

Step 1:

These chests are some of my favorites to work on. They are the perfect size and multi-functional. First, I started this piece with a thorough cleaning with White Lightning. Then, I used a coat of Dixie Belle Boss in clear to prevent any bleed through in my paint.

Step 2:

The top and legs are going to stay a natural wood, so I sanded those down.

Step 3:

Next, I’m using a custom mixed paint color. The largest portion is Palmetto, tinted with a bit of Antebellum Blue and Midnight Sky. We’ll call this color Juniper. 😊

Step 4:

I blended my Juniper mix using Midnight Sky for shading and the tiniest bit of French Linen for a highlight.

Step 5:

This is a beautiful paint finish on its own, but I wove through the Magnolia Garden Transfer in a crescent shape, vining up one side.

Every since I saw the white dresser with the pink rose transfer and the rose molding she put on it, I have been in awe! I love painting. She takes it to a whole new level! Everything is not always my taste but it’s always beautiful! Everything always looks so smooth and professional. She is awesome!
