It’s Tammy, from Rustic Orchard Home here to show you how to make your own Double-Sided Halloween Sign using Dixie Belle Paint Products! This one features a “Trick or Treat” side and an “Out of Candy” side. This Double Sided Halloween Sign is a must for anyone who welcomes trick-or-treaters each year. Simply grab a blank Halloween sign online or from your local craft store and add your own personal touch using Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint. Let me show you how I finished mine!

This project starts with a double-sided sign you can purchase from your local craft store. If possible find one that comes with cutouts for each side plus the round base where the cutouts will be placed. The holes can also be used to line up the letter cutouts once finished.
Begin by using Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint to paint each side of the round circle. I painted one side in Dixie Belle’s Silk Mineral Paint color Anchor and the other with the color Salt Water. However, keep in mind that you may need to sand the surface of the round to remove any roughness before you begin to apply paint.
Next, use Dixie Belle Silk Mineral Paint in Anchor to paint the words “Trick Or Treat”. I used a makeup sponge to paint the small cutouts.
Next use the colors: Pistachio from Dixie Belle’s Terra Clay Paint Line and, Amethyst, and Florida Orange from Dixie Belle’s Chalk Mineral Paint Line. You’ll want to paint each little candy piece as shown below. I also went in and added some extra details with a small brush. Pro Tip: The handle of a small paintbrush works great for making small dots.
Next, I added some splashed paint to the white side of the round using a toothbrush. To create this effect, load the toothbrush with Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint and then use your thumb to splash the paint onto the surface. I added both the colors Amethyst and Florida Orange Chalk Mineral Paint.
Next, I prepped the other set of cutouts by lightly sanding. Then, it was time to add color. I used Dixie Belle Paint in color Pistachio for the pumpkin’s stem and Florida Orange for the face. Then, I went in with Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint in Sea Salt and painted the words “Out Of Candy”.
Now, once everything is painted, it is best to let completely dry. This is what the “Out Of Candy” sign looked like after paint – but you know me, I’m a little extra! Therefore, I decided to add some glitter! To add glitter to the letters, I simply coated each one individually with a Clear Coat. I put tape down for them to sit on so they didn’t fly off the table while I sprayed them. Lastly, just dip each one into the glitter lightly making sure they are covered equally.
Now it’s time to glue everything into place.
Note – I had my wood guy go back and add holes to all of the pieces so that you do not have to worry about lining up both sides evenly. You simply line up your template holes to the base holes and it takes all the measuring and guesswork out.
The Final Look
And this is the final look! This looks great on its own or styled with other Halloween décor.
PRO TIP: Obviously, you’ll want to add Ribbon! Generally, when deciding on the color I used the colors of the ribbon I had on hand for inspiration. Eventually, I narrowed it down to what I felt worked best for each piece.
